Corfe Fest. Dorset

Purple Cress will be particpating in Corfe Fest 2009.  This is an event held annually in Corfe Castle, Dorset and is in it’s 3rd year.   Held from Friday June 12th to Sunday 14th of June.

We are catering on the Friday in the grounds of the Royal British Legion.  Any one is welcome to enjoy the BBQ we are putting on and we believe we are going to accompany a band which will perform from early evening.

On the Sunday we will have a stall set up in the Corfe sports field as part of their Crafts and Produce day.  We are still confirming our set but will be offering products such as Mini Chocolate Brownies, Shortbread, Savoury Quiches, Strawberries and Cream, Scones and Sparkling Elderflower.  All of this is of course homemade.

There will be something for every on to enjoy over the course of the weekend and we will update this blog as and when we know confirmation details.

Mothering Sunday Meal in Dorset

We are putting on a special menu for Mothering Sunday.  This is being hosted at the Worgret House Hotel just outside of Wareham and PurpleCress will be catering.  If you are in Dorset for this occasion then you should definitely consider it.  It will be a reasonable price for excellent food, in a great location.

The prices are yet to be confirmed but are going to be some where in the region of £18 for 2 courses.  You can choose (on the day) from our 3 course menu which can be seen below.

Mothers day menu

Starters

Rustic Country Vegetable Soup topped with a Basil and Pinenut Pesto.

Smoked Salmon, Potato and Dill Tart with a lightly dressed salad of Bitter Leaves.

Pork, Apple and Pistachio Terrine with oven baked Herb Crostini and Onion Marmalade.

Salad of Roasted Red Capsicum, Capers and Goats cheese with a Balsamic Reduction.

Main courses

Grilled Plaice fillets with a Prawn and Chive Butter Sauce.

Free range, organic Chicken Breast, Wild Mushroom and Tarragon Cream Reduction.

Traditional Roast topside of Beef, Mustard and Rosemary Yorkshire Puddings and Horseradish Cream.

Pan fried Polenta, Parmesan and Spinach cakes with glazed baby Shallots in a Vegetable Jus.

All main courses to be served with rosemary potatoes and oven roasted root vegetables at the table.

Desserts

Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Bean Ice-Cream.

Rhubarb and Apple Crumble served with Crème Anglaise.

Lemon and Orange tart, mixed Berry Compote and Crème Fraiche.
